Pete recently read a newspaper article about gorilla poachers in Uganda which he
found very upsetting. You can see the article with his comments below. Pete decided
to help by organizing a sponsored walk to raise money for the mountain gorilla
sanctuary in Uganda, Africa.
The headmaster of Newton Secondary School would like his pupils to take part in the
sponsored walk because it will make them more aware of the need to conserve
endangered animals. The headmaster has asked Pete to come into the school and talk
to the pupils about the gorillas and the sponsored walk to raise money to help them.
Pete has asked you to write his speech which he hopes will persuade the pupils to take
part in the sponsored walk. Include information about:
mountain gorillas
the gorilla sanctuary
how the sponsor money will be used
details of the sponsored walk.
