Spelling Tool - Task 2: Plurals and Suffixes
a) Plurals Reminder: Singular means one, plural means more than one.
To make a plural noun, you usually just need to add an ‘s’. However there are
exceptions to this rule. In the table below are words you may need to use at Pete’s
Pets. Complete the table to show that you can spell the plural nouns.

b) Suffixes Reminder: Suffixes are letters added to the end of a word.
Eight of the words with suffixes in the passage below are spelt incorrectly. Can you
find them? Underline the incorrect words.
People are often phoneing us to ask for advice on chooseing a puppy.
We always say that the healthyest puppies have a shiney coat and clear
eyes. If you call into the store we will happyly give you more information.
We are runing a puppy trainning class next month and if you are planing
to get a puppy, you may wish to come along.
