Planning Tool - Task 2: Writing Frame
Hi, I’m Pete. It’s nice to meet you.
I am very pleased to offer you a job at my new store. I
like all my staff to be well prepared and so before you
begin to work in my office, I would like you to complete
the following tasks. They will prepare you for the work you
will be doing in the office. Are you ready to start?
‘Pete’s Pets’ will have a monthly newsletter. The newsletter will tell people about the
store and how to look after pets. However, Pete also wants to include articles about
wild animals and the problems they face.
Pete would like an article about zoos in his first newsletter. He thinks zoos are a good
idea because they help conserve animals that are close to extinction but he knows
there are also arguments against zoos. He wants you to plan an article that shows
good and bad points about zoos but he wants you to come to a conclusion in support of
zoos.
Below is some information that Pete has collected to help you, but you need to sort
out where it will go in the article. You may find it useful to shade the boxes in
different colours for each section of the article (e.g. red for the introduction; blue
for points against; green for points for; and yellow for the conclusion).
