Task 2 haven’t
The passage below is written in a formal style.
Mr Tan phoned Steve, the car mechanic. He told Steve that he had a problem: his car
would not start. Steve said that he had not got time to see the car that day because he
was fully booked. Mr Tan said he could not wait until tomorrow as he had a job interview
in the afternoon. Steve replied that he was sorry he could not do the job but told Mr
Tan to try Hall’s Garage on First Street. Mr Tan thanked Steve and said he would ring
Hall’s Garage.
Write what Steve and Mr Tan actually said to each other. Try to use as many contractions as
you can, putting the apostrophes in the correct places. The first one is done for you.
