Speech Marks, Commas and Apostrophes
a) The missing punctuation has been added below:
“What animals did you see in Canada?” I asked Pam.
She replied, “I saw chipmunks, racoons and even a huge
grizzly bear.”
“I thought grizzly bears were dangerous,” I said.
“Not usually, but they will attack people if they think their cubs are in
danger,” Pam answered.
b) The apostrophes showing contractions (missing letters) have been added below:
Hi Pete,
I’ve just read the article about Pam’s holiday. I haven’t been to
Canada, but I’d love to go to there. It’s an amazing place isn’t it?
Wouldn’t it be exciting to see a bear in the wild? Pam should’ve
taken a photo!
Regards, Chris Finch
c) The four apostrophes showing ownership have been added below:
I have one dog. My dog’s collar is blue.
I have three hamsters. The hamsters’ cage is in my study.
