a) ‘WOW’ Words
The word ‘nice should be replaced with a range of suitable words such as:
amazing, attractive, beautiful, brilliant, charming, delightful, enjoyable, excellent,
fabulous, fantastic, fine, first-class, generous, gorgeous, great, incredible, kind,
lovely, marvellous, outstanding, pleasant, pleasing, pretty, remarkable,
satisfactory, striking, stupendous, super, superb, terrific, tremendous, wonderful
b) Emotive Words and Rhetorical Questions
The emotive words (emotional) words are circled and the rhetorical question is
underlined:
Two weeks ago, one of our customers brought in a dog that had been
found cruelly abandoned in the shopping centre. It was such a sad and
heartless thing to do. Why can’t people look after their pets properly?
Dr Raj Shah (our vet) took the poor, neglected dog to the local animal
rescue centre and today we had wonderful news - the centre has found a
caring, new home for the dog!
