Proofreading Tool: Task 1

Dr Raj has written a first draft of the article that Pete wanted for the store’s
newsletter. He has used the information from ‘Planning Tool - Task 2: Writing
Frame’.

Should Zoos be Banned?

Zoos are places were we can see all kinds of animals. Their are
Paragraph 1 thousands of zoos around the world and millions of people visit

them every year. However, the argument about weather or not

zoos should be banned has been going on for a long time.

Paragraph 2 It is claimed that zoos do more harm than good. Takeing animals
away from the place where they live and puting them in a cage is
cruel. Would you happyly give up your home to live in a cage?

Also, some peeple say that animals in zoos suffer because they do
Paragraph 3

not have anything to do. For example, elefants in zoos can become
stressed if they are bored and often rock from side to side for
hours or even injure themselfs.

On the other hand, people who support zoos say that they are very
Paragraph 4 educational. They teaches us about animals and the need to look

after them in the wild. As we am all aware, some animals are in

danger of becoming extinct. Zoos breed animals that is
endangered and, in the future, zoos may be able to return some of
these animals to the wild.

To sum up, there are points in favour and points against zoos.
Paragraph 5 Should we allow zoos to continue! I am sure you agree that the

answer is yes because they do a lot of good work in protecting
endangered animals and they teach us about animals from all over
the world.
