Target 9: Colons
Double point target :
Task 2
Steve is going to the youth club, when he meets Gary. He asks Gary to come and join
him for a game of pool. Unfortunately, Gary is going to the dentist because he broke a
tooth playing cricket yesterday and has an emergency appointment. Steve asks him what
happened and Gary explains that he had slipped in the mud when fielding and the ball
had hit him in the face. Gary agrees to meet Steve at the club later that day after his
appointment.
Write a play script of the conversation, using colons to show who is speaking.
(Remember: you don’t need to use speech marks, but you can use contractions to make
the conversation informal.)
