I have always wanted a pet dog, so you can image how happy I was when my mother told
me she was going to get a Labrador puppy. // She was going to collect it from the
breeder at the weekend. // “Can I come with you?” I pleaded. // “Of course,” she
replied. // When we arrived at the kennels on Saturday, the breeder took us into the
kennel area and showed us the litter of puppies. They were so cute! // The puppy we
had chosen was a yellow Labrador with ginger ears. The breeder had called him Sammy,
so we decided to keep the name. // He came over to us when we entered the room and
licked my hand. We then spent some time watching him play with the other pups before
taking him home. // Yesterday we had spoken to the vet for advice on what to feed our
pup and how to look after him. We had then gone to the local pet shop to buy everything
we needed. // When we got home, Sammy explored the house and played with some toys
we had bought for him. He was particularly interested in my school bag which I had to
hide away in the cupboard in case he chewed up my books!
