One day lasts for 24 hours. During one day a time such as 9 o'clock will
occur twice - 9 o'clock in the morning and 9 o'clock in the evening.

If you have to meet someone at 9 o'clock - is this in the morning or evening?
To help us explain which time we mean, we use the terms a.m. and p.m.

a.m. This includes the hours from 12 o'clock midnight through
the morning to 12 o'clock midday (noon).

p.m. This includes the hours from 12 o'clock midday (noon)

through the afternoon and evening to 12 o'clock midnight.
